I have used the story of Sinann to inspire creative writing, especially poetry and drama, in groups of primary age children (9 to 11 years in this case). The story sparked observation and a wide variety of poetic styles.
Here are a couple of examples from a school situated close to the river.
The first poem illustrated here speaks with Sinann’s voice and tells a version of her story. The second was inspired by the sunset reflection on the river bank. More examples of their entertaining poetry are available on my website. www.christhompson.info.

I remember a wild salmon unable to swim free.
I remember wise men who were not wise at all.
Once I was a girl, now I am a river.
Once I was trapped, now I am free.
Once I danced on two feet, now I dance with the water.
I wish you could flow as I do.
I wish you could see as I do.
I wish you could care for the river as I do.
