I took these pictures myself when I travelled to Sydney and the Blue Mountains about eight years ago, You can see why I was talking with Kate so enthusiastically about the area. It is stunning!
Kate’s story of the Kungara who took the shape of a Lyrebird but lost his wand and was unable to restore his shape or that of the ‘three sisters’, reminds me a little of Cian from the, late medieval, story, The Children of Tuireann who turned himself into the shape of a pig with his hazel wand.
