Two Stories of Samhain

In this seasonal special, the Story Archaeologists compare two stories of Samhain.  It’s a time for ghosts and ghouls and things that go bump in the night… but what could such stories tell us about life 100 or even 1,000 years ago?

Find out as the Story Archaeologists go digging one dark night…

  1. Hi Story Archaeologists :) Can you tell me where the ancestor veneration part of Samhain comes from? Is it from a collection of folk trad stuff? or Medieval lit. maybe? Ive always heard about it but I havent come across it myself in life and Id like to research it a bit.
Is it a mix of the fairy folklore with the ghost stories? A confusion of the two…
